More males are undergoing plastic surgeriesMales are more likely to undergo plastic surgeries today than in the past. Previously, women were the majority of the patients of plastic surgery; however more and more males are getting plastic surgeries. The most popular cosmetic surgery that is done for men is hair replacement surgery. Men are more likely to experience hair loss during their lifetime, and some experience it very early on. Hair replacement surgery can be done on males with some healthy hair growth still remaining. There are other procedures that require donors for hair replacement. The basic hair replacement surgery uses hair grafts to implant in other areas of the scalp. Grafts have 15 hairs on average. They are cut into smaller pieces when can be inserted into the scalp through very small holes. This procedure may take from a few months to years to complete to satisfaction. The next most popular surgery for men is breast reduction. Many men are faced with gynecomastia; in fact it affects about 60% of all American males. This condition causes their breasts to appear woman-like. The surgery removed excess fat from the chest area to reveal a more masculine shape. This is done by light liposuction. If the male has breast tissue, it may also be removed. Incisions and stitches are made in inconspicuous places; however scars may remain somewhat visible. Some males choose to enhance the look of their breasts as part of their lifestyle choice. A male breast enlargement is an available procedure that carries as much risk as a women’s breast enlargement procedure. The skin of the male is stretched, and implants are placed below in the chest area. Just as with female breast enlargement procedures, there are different kinds of techniques and implants available. The implant must be replaced every few years, as well as medically checked once a year. |
