Lip augmentation surgery can be done using a variety of different kinds of injections

Lip enhancement surgery is very common today. Many Hollywood actors have undergone this procedure, and it is also widely available for the general public.

The most important factor to consider is the natural look of the enhanced lips. It’s important to discuss the effects of the surgery on the patient’s lips before proceeding so that enhanced lips do not look vulgar or out of place.Lip Augmentation

The most popular procedure for enlarging lips is injection. The injection is done using small needles and does not require stitches. Collagen is one type of injection that can be used. It is extracted from cow skin. Collagen injections generally last for about 1 to 3 months, since the body absorbs collagen fairly slowly.

However, collagen injections can be repeated as often as the patient wishes. Another type of injection is fat. The fat is extracted from the patient’s body, usually from the thighs or stomach. This type of injection cannot cause any allergic reactions. Fat injections results are also temporary, but last longer than collagen injections. These can also be repeated often.

Another type of procedure to consider is surgical implants. These are done using small incisions made by a scalpel to the lip. The material for augmentation is inserted and the incisions are closed with stitches. This procedure has a longer healing time, however can be more permanent than injections. AlloDerm is the most popular lip enhancement material; it is made from cow’s collagen, but it’s more strictly processed.

Collagen injections may cause allergic reactions in some people. Fat injections can cause scarring or tissue lumping in some patients. Surgical implants are more likely to cause infections, although they are rare.
